“Iguassu Falls” actually comprises three cities in three different countries. Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil, Ciudad del Este in Paraguay, and Puerto Iguazú in Argentina with more than 875,000 habitants. The Iguassu and Paraná Rivers form the 3 borders. Our 2 main attractions – the Cataratas and the Itaipu Dam are visible from space. The Cataratas have been voted one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The pristine biodiversity of the Iguassu Forest, a World Heritage Site, has been preserved in the national parks of Brazil and Argentina.

Iguassu Falls is a destination that showcases natural beauty, but it also comes with vibrant South American culture. After visiting the parks, rivers, waterfalls and trails, enjoy a Samba show with a Brazilian barbecue or dance tango while enjoying an Argentine wine. Paraguay’s markets are great for photo expeditions and free shop prices. The most beautiful waterfall, the largest dam, the greatest biodiversity, the best bargains – visit the Buddhist Temple or the new Cathedral. Enjoy the vibrant nightlife with live music, shows, and dancing. The ethnic diversity provides a gastronomic experience with authentic dishes of local and international heritages.

BRING YOUR PASSPORT

The tropical sun is strong, so use sunscreen and a hat. Our winter – June, July & August – can be chilly; a jacket and pullover are recommended. For visiting the falls, light clothing is fine, but when trekking or bird-watching in the rainforest, participants should not wear shorts or sandals – trousers, long-sleeved shirts, and tennis shoes are best. Normally, tipping is 10%-15%; many times it will be included in your bill as “taxa de serviço”. Don’t forget: BRING YOUR PASSPORT.
